Is it possible to live a victorious Christian life?

2Pet 1:3-4 God promises that we can have His nature.

2Tim 4:18 God will deliver us from evil.

Jude 1:24 He is able to keep us from falling.

Phil 4:13 We can do ALL things through Christ, including overcoming sin.

Phil 1:6 If Jesus has gone to the infinite expense to save us, won’t He see us through to the end by enabling us to live a righteous life?

Matt 1:21 Jesus whole mission on earth was to save us from our sins.

1Pet 2:24 Once Jesus forgives us for our sins, we become dead to sin and alive to God

John 17:15-20 Even though we are in the world, we don’t have to be of the world. God promises to sanctify us through His word.



Is it necessary to be sinless?

Matt 5:48 Jesus here commands us to be perfect, or sinless

Roma 6:14,18,22 We can and must be made free from sin

1Joh 3:1-10 This passage clearly indicates that those who claim to be sons of God will not sin.

1Joh 5:18 Those who are born of God won’t sin.



What does God promise to those who endure temptation?

Jame 1:12 Only those who endure temptation will receive a crown of life.

Reve 21:7 This is the ultimate promise, that those who overcome will be children of God.



Where does the supernatural strength to resist temptation come from?

John 15:5 Christ is the source of our strength.

Aren’t some temptations just too strong to resist?

1Cor 10:13 God doesn’t allow a temptation to come to us that we can’t bear, and he provides the strength to resist the temptations.

Psalm 103:14 God knows our weakness, and He won’t let any temptation come that is too strong for us to bear.

Gala 1:4 God promises to deliver us from evil.

John 17:15 Jesus prayed that God would keep us from evil.


We know Satan’s temptations can be extremely powerful. How do we know God is strong enough keep us from sin?

Phil 4:13 Christ can enable us to do all things, including overcoming sin.

Mark 14:36 All things are possible to God, and He will do them for us if they are according to His will.


What if we fall after we start on the Christian walk?

Mica 7:8 When we fall, we don’t have to stay down, we shall arise.

How does Christ enable us to have victory?

We must repent of our past sins and allow Christ to make a new heart in us. Without our past sins forgiven, there would be no way to resist evil. This is why Jesus died: to forgive our sins so that we can be free to accept his power and live the victorious Christian life. Justification (having our past sins pardoned) is vital and must preceed Sanctification (living the victorious Christian life).


How does Jesus blood sanctify his people?

Levi 8:30 In the Old Testament, the blood of animals was a symbol of sanctification.

Heb 9:13-14 Jesus death was the antitype of this ceremony

Reve 12:11 The only way to overcome is by Jesus blood.
